ABOUT US

Built on experience. Driven by creativity.

Bay Alli Fabrication is a locally owned metal fabrication business based in Aongatete, serving Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty. With a background in engineering, years in the police force and a return to hands-on fabrication, Andy brings a practical, considered approach to every project.

OUR STORY

Back to doing what I enjoy

Before starting Bay Alli Fabrication, Andy spent years working in the engineering industry before moving into a career in the police force. After leaving the force, he wanted to get back to working with his hands and doing something he genuinely enjoyed.

That led to Bay Alli Fabrication, starting from a workshop at home in Aongatete in 2024.

What began as a small workshop has grown into a business focused on custom gates, fencing, balustrades and bespoke metalwork across the Bay of Plenty. With experience working across aluminium, stainless steel, mild steel and wrought iron, Andy enjoys the challenge of taking an idea and working out how to make it a reality.

For Andy, that’s the best part of fabrication. No two projects are exactly the same, and there’s always something to solve, design or improve. Whether it’s a straightforward fence or a more involved custom piece, he enjoys finding a solution that works and seeing it come together.

The business is still proudly owner operated, which means clients deal directly with the person designing, fabricating and delivering their project. It keeps communication simple, decisions quick and the focus firmly on doing good work.

The people behind Bay Alli

Andy Berntsen
